Hi guys
Thought I would pipe in...we (wife and I) own 2 7-08's, one rem 700 sps an one Savage w/accutrigger.
We run Hornady Interbond 139 gr., and Hogdon Varget Powder, Federal Match Primers...chrony reads consistent 2850 fps @ 1/2 gr off max load. We are not anywhere near heating this cartridge up...all groups are sub 1/2 inch shooters at both 100 & 200 yds.
I know the 7mm-08 is a great deer gun and with the proper bullet completely adequate for larger game...there are more bullet choices for the 7mm...
Both deliver down range energy and no recoil...which is why we shoot them...we both sold our 7mm Rem Mag's and both shoot the 7-08's.
Great ballistic coefficient, lots of bullet choice oh yeah plenty fast.
Last animal taken was from my wife, a 3.5 yr old mule deer buck at 292 yds...using predator shooting stix...
As you can tell I love the calibre and truly believe either the .260 or the 7-08 will do everything you ask of it...
Hope this helps, cheers
