Who's using H414? I only ask because I have several pounds of it. For use with 130 HVLD. I do have some Varget and I know there are other more suitable powder sour there for the .260 but just seeing if anyone else is doing the H414/Win760 route.

Sierra lists loads for H414 in their 120 and 140 grain loads.
Barnes exceeded 3100 fps with their 120 grain TTSX with H414.

Try some slower burning stuff, my best loads all came with H4350.
This fall I started working with a new Montana Rifle Company in .260, and so far H414 w/ 129GR SST's are working very well. The spread of temperatures on my three days out was about 15 degrees, and I didn't see any changes in consistency, though my zero went off a bit between the highest and lowest temps. My best group so far was five rounds inside a loonie at 100 yards, the groups before and after that not much worse, on a day with a bit of wind. This is with a new rifle and only one type of bullet tried with H414 so far, mind you, and I haven't taken it to max load yet.
Short answer? H414 is showing lots of promise so far. Could do a lot worse.

That is very interesting and very fast! I only shoot the 120gr TTSX in my 260 but have only ever used BL-C2 and H4831SC and neither according to the books will push over 2900fps, I may have to give H414 a go!

Yes it is compressed with the H4831SC, she is a bit crunchy.
I've had a couple of 260's and a 6.5x55 that I found great loads for.
I read years ago in Handloader an article by John Barsness called loads that work, his rec on the 260 was H4350 so I started there and always had great results with medium weight bullets between 120-130 grains.
I can't remember my exact load, but it was in the 45 grains area and was exceptionally accurate in both rifles and ran between 2800 and 2900 fps. 3100 in a 260 with a bullet in those weights is definitely hot, that is close to 264 Win Mag velocities.
His other cool observation with the 6.5x55 in a modern rifle was to use the 260 load data, in it I had great results with both H4831sc and Re22.
