.260 rem

Hey guys.
I just picked up my first .260 rem.
I just wanna know your opinions on bullet selection.
Also the cheapest/ best place to get projectiles.

I am currently using the 139gr lapuas and wanna know if anybody has any advise.

What rifle and what is your requirement . . . hunting or target. I started out with 120 Bergers and my hunting load is the 130 brain Barnes.

It's a savage with a Lothar walther barrel, McMillan stock, atlas bipod and a NF 8-32x56. Mostly for target. I really wanna push it. I have 1100 yards to shoot out to.

It will be tough to find anything better than the 130 accubonds IMO

The 139 scenars are a great choice. I buy mine from Hirsch precision.

I use the 139 Scenars for competition to 800m, have shot them to 1000m, with success. MV is about 2875fps.
Have also tested 142SMKs. They work well, too.
No experience with hunting bullets.

Berger 140 VLD or 142 SMK if you want a ballistic advantage over other offerings. Even so those 139 Scenars are great bullets and very uniform. But your gun will tell you what it likes!

The 139 Scenar over H4350 is a great combo for long range paper punching.

I shoot the 139's with N160, great powder for it.

I tried Bergers; didn't shoot quite as well as the Lapuas in my rifle. Maybe could have worked up a better performing load, but the Lapuas and Sierras worked, so why use up barrel life?

Have a look at Matrix bullets. The 142VLD was awesome in my old 6.5-06, and there is also a 160gr.

The new accubond long range bullets are starting to show up, the ABLR 6.5 129 gr would be a good one to try. Going to give them a whirl after hunting season in my 260 to see how well they do out there a ways. ..

I just started reloading .260 Rem for my Tikka T3. I wanna use it for coyote and deer hunting. My rifle so far likes Varget.
