I just purchased a Sako, in 260 Remington. I am going to start reloading for it. I am planning on trying 120-140 gr bullets. Just wondering what loads guys are using?
Also would like to get Lapua brass, is it easier to resize 243 brass or 308 brass. I have never tried this before, and am wondering what is needed to perform these tasks?

I used RP brass in two different 260's. I used mine for whitetail primarily and shot a truckload full with 125 gr partitions over H4350 powder.

Why not just buy RP brass, then you don't have to worry about the whole resizing thing.
 
I have a 260 Rem and I would buy 243 and neck up. The ellipical expander ball in my Hornady dies would work well.

That Lapua brass is supposed to be pretty good. I've been thinking about buying some 243 to neck up myself. RP works fine. But I would try Lapua for an accuracy edge experiment.

So far I've been shooting RP-7-08 brass necked down. It's held up great to reloading for a loooong time. That was all that was available when I bought the gun new in 1992 I think it was.
 
There is little chance that you will see any benefit in using Lapua brass for a hunting rifle. Save your money and use Win - neck down some 7-08.

Equally strong and accurate but you will have a bit of work forming the brass.

Rem is just fine for this application and will serve you well.

I like H4831SC in my 6.5 Mystic (260improved variant) and 139gr Lapuas. H4350 would work great for the lighter bullets. CCI BR2 or Fed 210M for primers is you want to squeeze the most out of the rifle or the reg. grade version if you don't care.

Ensuring that the ammo has low runout will do more for your accuracy then the brand of brass.

I use Rem 260 brass and Rem 140gr. bulk bullets in a 700BDL SS/DM. Shoots VERY accurate and bullets perform flawlessly. You can pay extra for a premium bullet but I really don't think it's necessary in this caliber.

Likely true, the 140 gr 6.5 bullet at 260 velcities pretty much has to perform well.

Lots of powders will work well. I ususally use H4350, RL19, H4831sc with 130-140 grainers. Currently got some AA3100 loaded up under some 130 Accubonds in one of my 260s. Im sure they will work well too. A good load is the 140 gr Nosler Partition over 46 grains of H4831sc or RL22. 2650-2750 fps and accurate, kills deer well too.

Please elaborate. I am showing interest in this calibre. I've had great success with .243calibre in .243 using Sierra (accuracy). Are you suggesting on-game-performance?
