260 Vs 7-08

Haggis,
Why not get setup with a buddy? I load for a friend, he comes over, his brass, his bullets and brass.
Most guys wouldn't mind helping a fellow shooter, then you to can own a 260.

I too thought reloading and kids wouldn't mix, but the fine folks here at CGN showed me the error of my ways. Today I've got two kids under 2 AND a sizeable collection of dies, powders, and fancy boolits.

The trick is to forget about a bench-mounted press, at least until the kids are older. I'm using a Lee hand press (it's like a giant garlic press) and have had no problems resizing anything, including some monsters like the .458 Win Mag, 7mm STW, and ye olde .45-70.

I pack all my kit into a single toolbox, and when the kids are in bed I can pull it out and sit down to a quiet hour or two of priming, or case prep, or actually loading up some fresh rounds.

It's really fun, the ammo is wayyy more accurate than factory, and I've become a much better shooter. The kicker for me was using handloaded 6.5x55mm this last fall to take a big mule deer--there's nothing like eating venison that you shot yourself, with a cartridge you loaded yourself.:D
