Hey had me thinking, What cartridges out there are Close too or near enough 180 grains, an doing 2500-2600fps or so ?

examples might be, 200 grain 8mm... or 174 grain 303 etc

Keeen to hear as i feel there is quite a line up!?

That's an awfully specific goal, but the first thing that pops into mind is a plain old .308 Winchester. I don't know that I'd even bother looking at much else if that was an option and 180's @ 2600 was a requirement. .30-06 with mild loads can do it as well. .284 Win and .280 Rem can hit that with 175gr bullets. 8x57mm can, so can a .338 Federal or .358 Winchester with room in the tank. 8mm-06/.338-06/.35 Whelen can all do that with very mild loads as well.

Probably dozens of other cartridges in the mix when reloading. But for the sake of simplicity, .308 Winchester is the easy button.

Some that come to mind are:

30-06 w/200gr at 2600 fps
8x57 w/ 200gr at 2600fps
308 win w/180gr at 2600 fps
7x57 w/175gr at 2600 fps
6.5x55 w/160gr at 2600 fps

Lots of cartridges can achieve something similar and can kill just about the same game within 300 yards.
I'm running my 180gr TSX load in my 8x57 w/ 22inch barrel with H4895 at 2778 fps.

i think the 338 Federal fits the bill also- possibly the 358 winchester, the 35 whelen is there also!

quite a darn lot.

did the 300 savage do this also-
