260rem ammunition - what to try next?

I have a nice 700 mountain LSS rifle I'm trying to mate up with a factory load for decent accuracy. Hunting medium game mainly. I've only been able to try 2 loads thus far, Fed Fusion 120grains (2950fps @ muzzle) - yielded about 2" group @ 100yd and Rem Core-lokt 140gr (2750fps @ muzzle) - about 1.5" group @ 50. I'm trying to pick my next purchase - here is what I have access to:

Fed Premium 120gr barnes triple shock ballistic tip - 2930fps @ muzzle

Remington Ultrabonded core-lokt 140gr - 2750fps @ muzzle

Remington Premier Accutip boat tail 120gr - 2890fps @ muzzle

Any suggestions on what might be a good one to try would be most appreciated. The fusions were decent enough really for my hunting purposes, I'm just looking for something a bit better :)
 
I have a 700 cdl sf and the only factory ammo i tried with it were the 120gr accutips. It group about an inch or so. It was a while ago so I don't remember exactly. I remember thinking, pretty damn good for a factory load.

Of the various handloads I've made, 140 gr bullets are definetly what it prefers, so I'd try the ultrabonded core-lokt next.
 
Should have a 1 in 8 twist. It should stabilize eveything from 120 to 140's. Fusions only come in 120's. My .260 has never seen factory loads but it consistently is better than a MOA at 200 metres.
 
Of the three you listed I would go with the Fed Premium 120gr barnes triple shock ballistic tip - 2930fps @ muzzle.

That's what I've used in mine (handloads but same bullet and velocity) for the the last few years in my .260. Three mulie buck, bang-flop on all three even with hearth/lung shots. To me my .260 is my deer rifle, I have bigger guns for bigger game but I wouldn't hesitate to shoot an elk or a moose with the 120gr TTSX. The TSX and TTSX are known to be very accurate as well.

I was thinking the ultrabonded would yield similar results as core-lokt - just basing on grain and velocity being same. Is it wrong to make that conclusion?

I was leaning towards these myself - is your .260 a mountain rifle by chance ???

I do not wish to sidetrack things too much here, but I have been thinking that a .260 would be nice to have. I no longer reload......does anyone know of any factory loads suitable for coyotes( ie. lighter than 120 or 140 grain).
I see bullets available under 100 grains, but no factory stuff.Kind of disappointed in Remimgton for its lack of support for a great caliber.

Probably, but not necessarily. You've most likely read that each gun is different so what one likes the other won't. Similarily one bullet is different from the next.

I'd say buy a box of both and head to the range :shotgun:

If you don't reload, stick to a .243 or 7mm-08...
