I not too long ago made a trade and now have a beautiful 700 mountain laminate/stainless in .260 and I can't wait to get out and knock something down with it! Tell me about what you've taken with yours and what kind of rounds you have used to do it.

Elk, Deer, Bear and one Mountain Goat. The elk with a 140 partiiton and the rest with either a 120 Ballistic Tip or Barnes X (older style).
All were good shot placements and no complaints with the performance. The Elk was a 6x6 Bull at 260 yards. I did hit a tad high but it broke his spine and he went straight down. He was done by the time I made it over to him. The goat was bedded at about 200 yards and I anchored him with a shot at the base of the neck (he was on the edge of a very very steep cliff). He never twitched. 120 ballistic Tip for that one.
I've become a bigger fan of accubonds the last couple years.

Another 6.5x55 user here. 3 whitetails so far, one buck and 2 does. The first two were shot using Federal blue box 140gr ammo, the last one using handloaded ammo with a 140gr Hornady SST. 6.5mm is a great medium game calibre.

Mine is so accurate with this stuff that i never bothered working up a handload for it.

At least 15 deer, ranging from a large Mule Deer buck at least 250 pounds on the hoof to a small fawn. A buddy shot a smallish bull moose as well with it, maybe 750 pounds.

i've shot deer , moose and black bear with the 6.5x55 , almost all of them with a 140 grain x bullet .
since barnes doesn't make the 140 grain bullet any more , when i finally use up my stash i am going to start using their 120 grain bullet .

I got one of Remingtons 700 special editions many years ago, stainless steel, synthetic, detatchable mag, engraved action. THE most accurate factory rifle I've ever owned, and I've had a few hundred. I originally had a Swarofski 8x56 on it but that was too big so I put a nice Zeiss on it. Killed around 20 deer with it at ranges from about 20 yards to over 400. I absolutely adore this rifle and caliber. Besides light recoiling it is also not terribly loud. I used to buy the Remington bulk bullets in 140gr., they work fantastic and should not be overlooked just because they are inexpensive. Now I shoot partitions but I can't honestly say they work any better.

Ruger 260 with Scirocco 130grs. Couple of Muley and White tail bucks as well as some does. Closest about 75 yds and farthest about 200. Sweet shooter.
