I have been looking into the 270 Cal and I am finding information that is indicating corolation between twist and bullet length regarding bullet stability. Is this something a person should look into when picking out a load. They talk about 1.15 Inches being the optimum bullet length for a 270.

The other question I have is what is a recommended bullet and load for a 270 WSM that will give me good velocity, maintained killing velocity out 300 350 yds, and bullet stability and accuracy.

A 1:10 twist is pretty common for a .270 (I shoot a .270 Win, not the WSM). That twist rate is fine for the popular bullet weights (i.e. up to 150 gr) with no problems. In terms of killing power, even a 270 Win firing a 130 gr bullet at 3000 fps will have just over 1600 ft-lbs of energy at 300 yds (according to my Sierra manual). You would get higher velocity and more energy from the WSM. If you move to the 150 gr bullets and get 2900 fps a little over 200 ft-lb of energy at 300 yds. That's plenty of punch. I found a great load for my rifle, but as it's just the .270 Win it won't help you at all. In terms of accuracy and on game performance I have been very happy with the 130 gr. Sierra Gameking.

Good luck!

The typical bullet weights in a 270 are in such a small range I suspect it won't make any difference, all factory rifles will be very similar in rate of twist.
