Looking up new load data I see a drift away from the
old IMR 4831 in published data Any ideas why?

Ditto for me too, won't hurt if some people share their recipes for it while they are at it. I just bought some, and have no data yet for my new .270

IIRC Jack O'Connor's pet load used H4831.

60.0 gr H4831sc lit by a Federal 210Match primer pushing 130gr SST @3000fps is a 1/2 MOA load in my T3 Lite. Every rifle is different. What works in my rifle might not shoot well at all in another rifle, or worse, it could be dangerous. Work up carefully from recommended starting loads.

Ive used about the same load, it worked well in more than a few rifles. Im mostly using 130gr. bullet with H4831 these days .

IMR 4831, Federal Large Rifle primers & Nosler 150 GR partitions have given the best accuracy out of my 25 year old Tikka.

H4831 was/is a benchmark powder in the .270. I've used IMR 4831 in all of the .25-06, .270 and .280 and found no real advantage over H4831 in all 3 ctgs, so I set it aside and stayed with H4831.

For a .270 IMR4350 and H4831 are about as far as you need to look. The old W785 was very good as well.

57 grns IMR 7828 behind 150 grn Partition also recently had very good results with the same charge & 150 grn Hornady SST

I have a similar problem finding a load for 270 Win 140 gr HPBT Game Kings. Will the Lee loads for jacketed bullets be a good start point? I thought I would like to try them at the range as they are half the price of Barnes, have a reliable reputation and work fine on deer out of a 308.
