Hey CGNers,
After a frustrating 1.5 years, I finally found a bug-hole load that my m70 BACO made in Portugal sporter likes!!
Thought I would share my recipe with you all in hopes that I can slow the rate of balding in others trying to load for the m70.
I understand that all rifles shoot differently, but this ladder load I recently put together seemed to have a node that was rather long.

52.1 (tightest), 52.4, and 52.7gr of IMR-4350
Federal Large Rifle Primer
Hornady brass
Berger 150gr VLD Hunting
Seated to the longest length able to fit inside the drop magazine

the smallest group is 52.1, and it opened up a bit as I went higher in charge weight - the barrel was getting hotter and my trigger discipline was deteriorating.

I'd be interested to see what loads everyone else has found for the 270

all the best

Have you chronographed that load to see what sort of speed you're getting? Looks a bit light, without checking references.

I sold mine, but I was using 58.5/H4831 SC with a 150 gr., and 60/H4831 SC with a 140 accubond.

According to the hodgdon website, I'm at least 1 grain over the max limit lol.
I haven't noticed any pressure signs at all.
Would be interesting to see how dumbed down the loads that actually get published are

Nosler partition 150 grain, H4831 sc, 54.5 grain, 2780 fps, 0.7 moa
Nosler Partition 150 grain, H4831 sc, 57 grain, 2850 fps, 0.3 moa
Nosler partition 150 grain, Reloder 26, 60 grain, 3060 fps, 1 moa
Sierra boat tail, 150 grain, Norma MRP, 59.5 grain, 3030 fps, 0.6-0.8 moa

My savage axis really liked the 150 partition over 51.5gr imr4350.

Any thoughts on h4831sc and 150g nosler ablr. Trying to work a load and found a es of 7 at 53.7g but speed is 2667 want to get 2750 2800 Did a ladder to 55.5 no pressure. Anyone find a node past max? How dumb down is this data nosler predicts 55g 2905 24". Being shot out of 22" tikka

I’ve got a Savage III in 270W. My current fav hunting rifle, and I have several to choose from, it doesn’t bother me nearly as much if it gets a few marks on it. But it won’t stabilize the 150’s I’ve tried. It’s fine out to 100 yds but by 200 yds it’s dropped 10” and starting to go sideways. So I stay with 130’ Hornady SST. My pet load is 59gr H4831 which is max book. I set the coal at .030 off the lands, and it hits 3050fps at the muzzle. I love that round. Shoots between .5 and .75

I don't think you can go wrong with 58 ish grains of H4831 and a 150gr bullet. I had excellent results with 150gr interlocks and H4831.
