Hi I'm about to load .270 win i'm using IMR 4350,magnum primers(It suggests in the Nosler reloading guide to use magnum primers) and Hornady 150gr.Just wondering if there where anybody that had different loads any info would help thx.

FEARS NO FOE

IMR-4350 From 44.9 grains to 54.1 grains
Winchester WLR Primer

But I preferred with 150's:
RL-25 From 50.7 grains to 62.0 grains
Winchester WLR Primer

Actually my real preference is:
Bullet: Sierra 140 Grain HPBT
Powder: 53.1 grains of IMR-4350
Primer: Winchester WLR
Case: Winchester
Firearm: Winchester 70
Velocity: 2944 FPS @ 15' from muzzle

I think your load will work fine. It is a good idea to use magnum primers when you exceed 50 grs. of powder, or if the loads are going to be exposed to very cold temperatures. To simplify my life, and because it tends to be expensive to ship primers up here, I just use Remington 91/2 Magnums for all my rifle loads (except match and some specialty loads) with no ill effects.

I agree with Boomer.... your load components should be just fine. I also use magnum primers for most of my hunting loads just in case it's really cold out.

I've also had good luck with IMR 4831 in the 270. I'm not sure what you plan on shooting, but if moose / elk are on the menu, 150 gr Nosler Partitions work good. I've chrony'd 150 Partitions @ 2900 fps with a stiff charge of IMR 4831.
