Hi,
I have a .270 and find it to be a very good choice for big game hunting. It's a good flat shooting round with enough killing power. For deer, it's an excellent choice. For moose, I find it to be on the border line but having said that, I have seen some 50" bull moose falling when striked with the mighty .270

so with a good bullet placement, there should not be any problems.
My father in law have a Winchester model 70 and it does not shoot well the 130gr but does pretty good with 140gr Accubond. Mine, does not like the Accubond 140gr but loves the Winchester Silvertips 140gr, (not the Ballistic Silvertip).
Easy to reload, and lots of choices in components

, well used, the .270winchester will bring you game for sure.
Good luck
