Anybody have some load data for this combination? I'm still waiting to hear back from Barnes on this....

Thanks,

Dave

I was going to try this combination with Retumbo, but I was so impressed with the results (range & on game)of 140gr Accubonds with my 270WSM's (andf my 300WM with 180gr AB's) that I traded all of my .277 cal 140gr TSX bullets (3 pkgs & 2 pkg of 180gr for 300WM) I had to reload for 140gr AB's for the WSM's and 180's AB's for the 300WM.

I'll look in my records for what I was going to try and let you know.

With the 140gr AB's from the 270WSM getting complete pass thrus at various distances on elk/ moose, deer. Only recovered 1 bullet from the 270WSM on a cow elk my wife shot last season and it retained 120gr (85.7% of original), perfect expansion. LOngest with the 270WSM was@ 325m double lung my wife did in 2005 or 06 on a bull moose. She shot twice as I did not want the bull to make it into the timber. First shot was a kill shot, but the bull ran 20m and stopped so she hit him again.

What powder are you using with the .270 WSM/140gr. Accubond combination?

I ran a couple boxes of factory loads through during my break-in procedure and gor half-decent groups with the factory Accubonds. (anywhere from 3/4" to 1 1/4") Ideally, I would like 3/4" all the time:)

I have used the Interbonds in my .30-06, and have had great success. My buddy tried them in his .270WSM, and he says they were blowing up on him in deer and making a mess. He thinks they weren't meant to be pushed that fast and has been very happy with the 130 gr TSX.

I think 140s would work for pretty much anything that I'm going to hunt. I might have to try the Accubonds out. I also have one box of 140gr Failsafes that I picked up (last box). I've heard good things about them too. That would be my luck. Those will probably be the best ones, and they don't make them any more:runaway:

A-Zone,

I use Retumbo. Got original reolad data from BIGREDD on CGN and went from there. I do have some 7828 and H-1000 but Retumbo worked great for me. I will maybe try the new Winchester Powder 780 when its released too. Its what Winchester uses in their Winchester Supreme line of ammunition.

DaveC,

I would say that 0.75-1.25" groups with factory ammo is preety good. If you know the lot # of the ammo that was 0.75" groups - buy some more if you can find it.

I am not too familiar with the Hornady Interbonds so I cant comment, but I know the Accubonds do their job superbly.

As for factory ammo I like and reccommend the Winchester Supreme line - 270WSM in 140gr Accubond CT's or maybe try the Winchester Supreme Elite XP3's in 150gr -combination of the Failsafe and Accubond(I wish you could buy this bullet to reload)

I think Federal is the only one that loads the 130gr TSX for the 270WSM. They also have a 140gr Accubond.

I use to use the Failsafes in my 300WM and loved them. I then changed to the Partition Golds in 1997 when I bought my Sako m75SS 300WM and now Accubonds in 2004. Started reloading in 2005 and use Accubonds in my 300WM and 270WSM.

In my opinion the 140gr bullet is the best choice for all big game in the 270WSM, but the 130TSX would be a good choice. As I mentioned I loved the performance of the Accubonds so much I traded all my TSX's to reload for both calibers for Accubonds.

I have been away but I will look up the data I was going to try with the TSX in 140gr I was going to try in my 270WSM's.

Lefty #### gave you the best powders for the wsm
I have a 7mmwsm most accurate is H4831sc with Nosler BT or Accubonds I tested with the Nosler BT and load for hunting the Partitions and accubonds.
The Magpro shoots a close second with 4831sc but way more speed 3300fps all bullets where 140gr

I shoot both a 6.5-270WSM (140gn bullet), and a 7mm WSm (180gn bullet).

I have had good results with IMR 7828ssc in the 6.5-270WSM (140gn bullet), and I have had great results with H1000 in both these rifles
