270 WSM and 300 WSM

The owner of the local gun shop in my area was trying to sell me on a .270wsm over a standard. 270. Part of his sales pitch was that the wsm had less recoil than the standard .270. Anyone have any feedback on this?

Maybe the other rifle he was comparing it to was a standard .270 weatherby? Otherwise no, bullets of the same weight driven faster recoil more. Pretty simple.

I have reloaded for 4 tikka t3 300wsm's. I started with on and after seeing the results I'm getting with 200 & 208gr bullets long range my buddies are slowly selling their guns and joining the club. Recoil is better than what my 7mag was in the same gun. Accuracy is as good as any other hunting caliber I've shot, and the cartridge is easy to get shooting well. As for the rifle itself, all Tikkas are on a long action so you can file down the bolt stop, extend the factory mag, and seat the heavies out to the lands. 300wsm has become my favourite caliber in this setup. No more belted mags for me ;)

My long range 300WSM loves the 208AMAX as well....knowing they shoot good in the T3 makes me want to pick one up to try...where are they on sale??
