Finally got to it and reloaded my first batch of ammo with my new RCBS kit!!
Yay!! Everything super easy to set up and use.
As a bonus the rounds I put out were nice and consisitent at aprox. 3200fps.
Right on the money and having bullet holes touching at 200 yrds proves it.

Ended up staying with the Retumbo (70 gr) with 140 gr hornady sst and federal large rifle magnum primers.

Might push load a bit more but pretty pleased with it as is.

It can be that easy and that much fun....just check check and recheck.

Somethings gonna die:)
 
What rifle are you using? I got 3085 fps with 140 gr accubonds and 70.5 gr retumbo.

You should try H4350, you'll lose some velocity but muzzle blast/recoil is much lower and accuracy is often excellent.
I've spent much of this summers experimenting with Retumbo, H4831 and H4350.

For heavy bullets, 150gr and over H4831 is my choice,
For normal bulles 130gr-140gr H4350 is what I found the best (I had big muzzle blast issues with Retumbo),
For varmint/lightweight bullet 110gr Varget worked wonderfully.

Some of my elk hunting buddies (they hunt in Western US not Quebec!) swear by 70gr of Retumbo and a 140gr Nosler Accubond.

I also just did some load development with the 130gr ttsx and H4350. Gave me 3250fps and .75" groups. I'm happy with that and H4350 being temp stable is excellent.

Lyman puts max load for a 140 gr at 71.5 gr with retumbo but at 3133 fps.
My gun seems to shoot faster than what I usually see (26 inch barrel I think) so I just backed off a bit and did 6 rounds. Seeing as how I'm not that much faster than the rated speed I figured not bad seeing as how tests are usually done with 24 inch or shorter barrels.

The plan is to work on some different bullets/mixes next year.

Right now I am really trying to get settled on a descent load for my moose hunt which is in.........7 days!!! Tonight is a reloading night for sure.
Would like to experiment more later with the h4350 because I here lots of good things.

Yes, muzzle blast is a bit heavy..chrono needs to be good and far (12 feet)
