My Benelli R-1 270WSM wears a 4.5-14 VXIII and it shoots half MOA groups with 140 grain accubonds... hand rolled! I have shot it out to 500 yards many times ( yes I have a 500 yard range of my own ) and it will shoot half moa at that distance wind permitting
So far to date it has killed nine coyotes all one shot kills except for one shot in long grass that took three shots to anchor. I killed two black bears and a deer with it last fall. I shot one of the bears three times at 180 yards... watched all of the impacts in the scope and the holes were all intersecting the vitals.
I had one malfunction trying to load it quietly and not closing the bolt all the way... I just punched the bolt forward and solved the problem... strictly user error.
Over all I give the rifle a solid five stars... the best hunting semi made today. I would take it on the hunt of a lifetime in a heartbeat.
