Because it could never be a mountain rifle again without spending a grand on a new stock. It might be just me but using an ultralight to build a varminter would be a strange way to go.

I stand corrected. Now to find one...where do you source yours? I seem to have a tough time finding stock on cds models.
Cabelas had a bunch when I was there yesterday, but I mostly just asked because of this thread. Given my druthers I buy most of my Leupolds from Darcy at Bowyers Outdoor Sports out in the sleepy little town of Maple Creek, Sask. He's a good guy, great shooter and somehow managed to become one of the highest volume Leupold dealers in the country.
