Everybody is aware of how good a bullet this is,
But would you guys hesitate to use it on a moose?
They dont offer it in 150gr, and yes I have better(more powerful) rifles in the cabinet, just curious to what everybody's take is on it.
Very light bullet, but very strong(stronger then alot of heavier bullets)

Good bullet + right place = dead moose...

Lots of moose have been taken by 130gr standard cup and core bullets int he .270. While not ideal (as many of them seem to turn into shrapnel on moose shoulders) they did eventually kill the moose:)

130gr TSX should work fine;)

I wouldn't hesitate to use one on a moose either. I shot a bull elk with a 130 TSX out of my 270 WSM in 2007.... it was a one shot kill and the bullet exited.

i think a 130 gr barnes is close to same size as a 150 gr lead core right??
i d just watch those 1/4 towards you shots as those shoulders will stop that, and an exit wound is not at all likely even on broadside shots.

i use a 7mm with 150 siroccos and they dont exit

The 130X is far tougher than a Scirroco. It will easily blow right through a moose shoulder....Bone and all.

I wouldn't shoot at the South bound end of a North bound moose, but other than that I would say go for it.

You'll be fine.

As has been mentioned, lots of moose killed with standard 130gr bulk bullets. I bought a bag of Remington Bulk 130gr SP's and loaded them up to 3100 fps myself for this very purpose. With good shot placement, Mr Moose will be on the ground quickly and efficiently.

BTW, I would not do a shoulder shot with a 270 using any bullet, unless I had already put one round through the boiler and had some pressing need (like the moose heading for a fast river) to try and put the animal down right there.
