Was digging through some old bullets I have and found a box of .277 Hornady 110 HP manufacture #2720. They are flat base with no cannelure and not the modern vmax version. Any one have any experience with these bullets? I am assuming they are not meant to hunt big game more a target/varmint style but I could be wrong.

Used them years ago in a 270 Win. Good to use in farm country. They break up on the ground if you miss the groundhog, no ricochets. Though they are really hard on the groundhogs. Definitely made for varmints.

Thanks for all the reply’s. I had sent a question to hornady about the bullet in question and received a response as stated by the above posters this is def not a bullet for hunting deer sized game!

“ Thank you for your email. Those bullets are intended for use on varmints and target shooting.

MR”

All a buddy uses for deer is 100gr head or neck shots........no I'm not a advocate of this practice but he fills his tags every fall with no tracking.
