28 ga--Best powder for Skeet loads

Hole could be worn and tipping off to one side. For the price pop a new one on with the new stud and give it a try. You should never have to position a hull rotated a certain way in a mec to make it crimp better.
The black plastic ones do wear out quite frequently.
Thanks. My 600 is an older one using the metal crimp starter and it's appears fine. I'll follow up with MEC.

I never liked those and changed them out on all of my machines. If I remember right they screw solid to the frame and rotate up inside where you really cannot see but then again I cannot remember exactly since it has been so long since I used that style.
New plastic one with a stud is a kit under 10 bucks and hummasons will have it.
I have a MEC jr, sizemaster and a 9000G in 28ga loading most years 5000 rounds plus and never have to position the hulls like you are and all I reload is old and new HS AA's. Good Luck

I use Alliant 20/28 exclusively and have been very happy with the results. Very clean burning, summer and winter. I load 28 gauge at 1250fps for all my pheasant, grouse and rabbit hunting. Put 64 pheasants in the freezer last season , so don't let anyone say the 28 gauge is too small for pheasants.

Hey Fella's...thanks for the input...got some Long Shot and Unique...couple boxes loaded up and will try on sunday shooting skeet...then off to the dairy farms for some pigeon pest control..
Thanks again
