28 gauge Challenger/ Federal hulls reloadable?

From what I could determine - Challenger probably uses Cheddite hulls - so about any recipe calling for Cheddite hulls will work with the 28 gauge Challenger. I have never tried to reload Federal hulls.
I sold off most of my 28 gauge reloading stuff - since Nov. 2025, I have had about 2150 28 gauge Challenger 2 3/4" hulls on a WTB ad on CGN - no "sniffers" - maybe the shipping cost scares them off? I was asking $0.05 per hull. Maybe you can do better than I did.

Ive got about 500 28 gauge hulls. Mix of challenger and federal target. Are these reloadable or is there a market to sell them?
Challengers reload just fine, easily 6-7 times depending on your load. Never tried federal myself.

Federal 28g cases are good for 2-3 reloads before the primer pockets start to leak. Important to use the proper wad for the straight wall case as fine grained powders will migrate past the wad cup after a few weeks of being jostled around in you vehicle or pockets and you will have bloopers guaranteed. I use Federals that have been reloaded several times at the club in a semi auto and leave the empties on the ground.

Cut a case in half and test by inserting a wad and wiggling it around. If it’s too loose at the cup junction to the powder column then you will have issues.
