Check out the Browning link in the Shotshow thread.
Some kewl Shotshow pumps in the link.
Maybe pink camo?

^This! I own one of the older M37 Ithaca shotguns in 20 gauge. This small game death machine is like a wand. A 28 gauge would only be more wand-like and would be a very fine upland game gun IMO.I would go with the Ithaca, though I don t have one in 28 I have one of the new made ones in 20ga and it is slick as snot.I lucked out too ,the guy I bought it from liked it but it did not fit him(he even got a second set of stocks for it he liked it so much)anyway he gave it to me for $600 plus the spare set of stocks
Well, I ended up going with the browning. Just ordered one from Epps' site. I kept on looking around after starting this thread and the only one I could find in stock, in any store in Canada was the browning. And even then, there were only a few. And only 1 with a 28 inch barrel. So what the hell I figure. Should be here next week and i'll take 'er for a rip, see how she runs and report back here.
A year back I went on a quest to find a pre private equity Wingmaster in 28ga and managed to import one up from the US through Prophet River. These are sweet guns and so much nicer than the current generation of Wingmasters. Gun was NIB but still managed to have a missing mid-bead but still, I was happy.
I looked at the BPS but they are just way too heavy for a sub gauge, defeats the purpose really. Nicely made guns and extremely reliable but why can't Browning make an effort to scale them down a little?
No doubt you'll enjoy it, I'm just a weight weenie.
Patrick
Well done.Welcome to the ranks of the 28 gauge owners.Looking forward to your reports on the gun.
Oh, I'm not new to the 28 Gauge, my friend. I'd just like to get back to it as it's my favorite gauge and has been years since the one I used to use was serviceable. But thanks for the welcome just the same.![]()
On a side note, and this may be a long shot. Anyone know where a guy can find 28 gauge slugs in Canada? Ammo for it is hard enough to find, let alone slugs. But I figured if anyone knew where to get them, maybe some of you gents would. Feel free to PM if you know who's got a stash and don't want the secret getting out lol.
Well in that case, glad to have you back in the fold.
You can quite often pick up 28 gauge loaded slugs and balls at gun shows.Usually C-I-L Imperial. These shells are no longer made ,but if you ask around you can usually locate some. Also there is a company making new 28 gauge factory loads.A gunshop about a hours drive from home had some the other year.Just forget the brand name, will see if I can look it up on line later.
That pretty much sums it up or ask if there are any old mom and pop gun shops in your area. I got some that way twice from their old stock.
The new ones are made by these guys but I have yet to see any for sale in canada. Did look at them in the US at Cabelas and they are nice
