After trying for the past month and a half or so fellow Flocknocker Chisholmquackwacker(Chad, facing camera in 1st photo) and I were finally able to hammer down on some birds together along with some of our friends. I called Chad to see if he and Paul were able to join Wynn, Jon, Dan and Myself to get after some geese on a field I have permission for and we finally were able to put it all together. Weatherman was predicting cold with clear skies, well was he wrong, cold yes, clear NO! We arrived in the dark to a light snow falling and none of us own snow covers for our layouts or figured we would need snow spray. Birds didnt come easy as it seemed the blinds stood out with a white field and no snow for the well stubbled blinds. A little tweeking within the decoy spread seemed to help take the birds vision off of us directly and we started to work the flocks into good shooting range(25 yards). We ended the morning with 28 Canadas, 2 short of a 6 man limit. Chad's buddy Paul brought his beauty of a chocolate lab, Storm along and he worked superbly. He sure made quick work of the few runners we had and really cleaned up the fallen birds well.Alot of fun was had, can't wait to get together with these guys again. Here are a few pics from Friday morning.:wak:
