Well! So this is the thread where Hungry and TimK told me to tell everybody I won with a Norinco SKS over those multi-thousand dollar rifles... but I'm not the kind of guy who brags too much over such stuff. I just enjoyed myself, not feeling more pressure than to try to do my best.
I had those moments when I thought the day would only go bad, because it started all wrong. During the morning practice run, my bullets were hitting the edge of the new compensator I had just bought. All my bullets were going into the berm right at the foot of the target. That was not good! I did not have another chance to test if the rifle was shooting straight after I took the comp off. Still during practice, at the transition to pistol, I let my rifle drop on my sling. The screw holding the swivel just jumped out of its nut, so the rifle went into the ground nose firts, and the stock crashed into the cheap bucket that was at my feet to collect brass, and broke it! I looked down, a little dumbfouded, and forgot about my pistol for a few seconds, then I heard: "...and Stop!" Too late to shoot!
Of course, the afternoon went a little better!
