28" Shotgun Barrel For Slugs

youre pissing your money away on a rifled choke, its not going to do much. a rifled choke is a poor substitute for a rifled barrel. you are better off buying a few different boxes of foster slugs and brennekes and practicing with your smoothbore barrel, and seeing which one is most accurate out of your gun. your bead sight is another limitation for slug accuracy.

for a bit more money than a rifled choke you can just buy a take-off rifled slug barrel for the 870 that has a cantilever scope mount so you can mount some sortof sight or optics on the gun and leave it sighted in with the barrel.

OR, what i would do if it were me, is look around at your local gun shop and maybe the EE for a used H&R Slug Hunter shotgun. its about as accurate as youre going to get out of a shotgun, and they can be found dirt cheap because its an inexpensive gun and noone ever wants them . ive see them go for ~$150 quite often. break action, heavy rifled barrel, tough as nails - the entire gun will cost you as much as a take-off barrel for your 870.
