hi guys, i would appreciate to have your input on this caliber. The purpose is for a Open setup. Is it easy to tune ? barrel life ? What kind of velocity can be expected ? powder used...etc....

thanks for your help

Works very well. My wildcat is called the 7 Mystic and was created when there was a no magnum rule in F Open. Did this when the 6.5-284 was still the "hot" set up....quite a few years back now

Either way, you end up with a 7RSAUM case volume so performance is similar. Easy to get to the 2900fps node without stressing anything.

Bore life is typical of these 7's which is 1000rds of match accuracy give or take.

9 twist, 30" barrels

I start with 30-06 brass and form from there.

Thinking seriously of building another just for S&G's.

i'm trying to find a case to push it at 3000fps on a 308 bolt face, 32in barrel. What kind of precision did you get from it ?

thanks Jerry

Accuracy was excellent.

I had a test barrel that was only 22" long and went over 2800fps

Expect 29++ fps would be a no brainer with a longer barrel. It might even go 3000fps but not critical to me.

The bullet wants to fly in the 29++ node....

I am more concern about accuracy with low vertical at distance with moderate pressures. This the 7 Mystic did very well.
