.280 Rem Varmit Loads

I wouldn't bother, unless it's just for giggles. Burning that much powder in a sporter weight barrel - things heat up REAL fast, especially on a hot sunny day.

The TNT and Hornady 100gr HP aren't all that explosive out of my 7mm08. Neither are the .308 110 vmax @ ~2500fps from a 7.62x39.

Really, it's very hard to beat a 22-250 for splatter factor on gopher sized vermin

I will be taking a .223 bolt,a .243 bolt and a .22 mag bolt as well, but I plain love the .280's accuracy and would shoot it sparingly.Cost per shot unimportant.I have owned 2 22-250's in the past and sold them in fits of awesome stupidity.I console myself with the belief that it is unsportsman-like to own a rifle that hits everthing, everytime at any range for pennies a shot with 0 recoil...

Well, generally when I take a 'silly' gun out gopher hunting, I use my regular hunting/practice loads in it. This way, you're also getting practice with the same setup you'd use for big game. Although I did once cook up a 3300 fps load for my 308 using 85 grain XTP bullets intended for the 32 ACP. I just run them through a cast bullet sizing die to swage them down a couple thou.

I'll tell ya, though, a 338 shooting 225 grain interbonds really messes a gopher up.

"...Anyone have..." You'll have to work up a load for your rifle. No two rifles will shoot the same ammo the same way.
"...a rifle that hits everthing, everytime, at any range..." There's no point having a rifle that doesn't.
