My best load.
150gr Barnes TTSX
CCI LR Mag Primers
54.5gr IMR 4350
Nosler custom brass
3.399" OAL
22" barrel Sako AV. 3020 fps
I'm sure this load is over max, so as always, approach with caution. Build up your loads.

mine is 120tsx over max charge of rl19 or 140ab max charge of rel19. both are sub minute in my cooper. i have tried 160 speer and 154 hornadys almost as good just don't see the need for the heavier weight in a 280. i shoot 139 gmx in my 7 mag.

Guns & Ammo magazine just did a write-up in their July 2012 edition.
It was an okay piece.
I am a a little dismayed that this caliber is not more widely available in factory firearms. It is so damned accurate a load and a little knider on the shooter than the 7mm Rem.Mag.
I wish I had the fundage to buy another rifle right now. The .280 would be my next purchase, I think.

139gr Hornady spire points ahead of 56grs 4350, just over 3000fps. Springfield custom, Douglas premium 22 inch barrel has accounted for over 50 deer and 4 elk since I built it in 1972. Joined by a Ruger #1, a few years back. Same load works well and no sign of excess pressure in either gun.
