Using a cheap Lee 348 Win sizing die body for establishing the first part of the taper is a good idea.
The 375 Ruger brass seems to be a good option: it has enough girth and there is no belt to deal with.
I guess that a nice shoulder annealing before attempting any radical brass forming would help a lot.
