My uncle has a sporterized 280 Ross in very good condition that he'd like to move.Does anyone have any idea of what he should ask for it?It belonged to my grandfather,so it's been in the family for many years.Any input is appreciated,Thanks....Mur

Milsurp section might get you a better opinion.
A lot is subjective on these guns, so pics and any markings would help. Usually a pic of the entire rifle, and that of the action, markings etc will get you a correct value within $25.
I'm more of a milsurp guy or I'd give you a guestimate, but I don't know anything about commercial rosses.

It is unlikely that it is a sporterized rifle. IF it is its a real shame, because a military .280 is one of the very rarest Rosses.
Assuming it is a M-10 sporting rifle, I have seen these sell for $500 up in the past two years.
You mention that it is in very good condition. That description is open to interpretation. A specific detailed description woold help, and as mentionned, pictures would be even better.
