I 've got a 280 on a m98 action , 24"Douglas air gauge bbl, rimrock stock , single set trigger. Have had it for some 15 years & have found some pretty nice loads as well come up with some of my own. The 280 is I think one of the nicest out there in a non mag round though there must be hundreds of very good non mags but this one is my fav. I've loaded 150 gr N.P. at 2890 fps with sub moa results 140 N.BT at 3150 fps with R19 1/2' @200 yrd & 160 N.AB, IMR 7828, 2750 fps. I shot Black bear with the 150s had a hunter in the Arctic shot a CB Caribou @ 250yrd with the 150 as well, no problem & light kick, shot coyotes at over 300 with the 140 BT's some nice mulies with 160 grns & had a guy drop a bull elk with the same round with one shot. Not saying any of a dozen or more rounds couldn't do the same but the 280 does it with relative ease. I really think though the 150 NP is such a nice cross for this cal as it has allot of punch & doesn't kick any more than a 270 would .
