The guy(seller) is a idiot, no Chinese person is gonna overpay for a second hand "crap"(not the gun is crap, just a figure of speech)
Chinese usually prefer "Rooster's head" over "Phoenix's tail", meaning they'd prefer to buy something new rather than used.
A used anything other than antiques means sh8t to a wealthy Chinese person, a brand new custom 1911 with serial# 8888 plus my initial for 3k+, sure why not I'll bite, but a used glock? lol
us Chinese aren't known to be stupid.

I bought one Glock 34, Gen 3 built by Kelsey ( Smoking Gun FX ), Had a nickel plated slide, aftermarket trigger, aftermarket night sights, magwell, 5 mags with bumpers and only cost me 1100$. Highly doubt that stupid reddot rear sight anymore then 150$. What a rip off. Guy should be banned for scamming. No wheres that guns worth anymore then 1100$

There's no scam, it's a price he is asking. The Burris fast fire sight can be had for $250-350 depending on model.

Well considering he got banned for illegal acts, and then asking 2888$ for a 1000$ gun I say he was a scammer. He didnt have a Burris Fast Fire. He has this retails for 90$. A fancy fiber optic sight.

Well......that was strange to say the least !!!!

Quite the start for 2016 and this fellows undoing.I just finished the "aluminum billet" thread ,saw his name in pink ,then whoosh......no more Glock.

How bizarre how bizarre.

Maybe I`ll go to the range tomorrow and give the 35 gen4 a workout.

Lol, I forward the ad to somebof my friebds and had a good laugh, figured some rich Honger would probably buy it eventually. Not sure if the mainlanders are that big on numbers.

Well , it is New Years day....maybe he was still sipping a few hot totties left over from last night....

Could be. I looked at some of his other posts earlier in the day when I first seen that price to see if he was one of our regular crazies and didn't see anything out of the ordinary besides that great priced glock.

Ok but if we ban him, then we have to ban half the ee ads who adverstise above retail...just because they owned it....ha

This is one of the stupidest, most disrespectful, attempts to profit based on something the guy clear knows nothing about. In general I disagree with criticizing ludicrous high prices on the EE, as the stupidity always takes care of itself (by the item not selling), but this is different. It is a village idiot's attempt to try and profit from a tiny bit of knowledge of someone else's culture.

It is internally contradictory. That is the main thing. Every Chinese person in the world would recognize, implicitly, that the path to "fortune/prosperity" does not lie in being ripped off by people with a tiny amount of knowledge about your culture.

Cantonese numerology (which is what we are really talking about here) is based on the idea that certain numbers sound similar to other words in Cantonese: 2="easy", 4="death/suffering" (unlucky), 8="fortune/prosperity", etc.

In other Chinese dialects, the meanings can change, as the words for numbers sound different. Pairs, even numbers, and 8's tend to be lucky, but so is 168, and other things.

The main thing though is, no one - anywhere - Chinese or otherwise - is going to pay 3 times the new price for a "well used" anything because of its serial number. It is contrary to logic and much as to Chinese culture - which is highly frugal, similar to the stereotype of Scottish people in the West. I know, as I'm married to one (Taiwanese). Sure, she think's 8's are lucky, but that is dwarfed by the desire not to get ripped off.

The seller must have serious financial pressures, but this isn't going to have a sniff of a chance of working.

Both well said. I like good serial #'s as much as the next guy, but paying triple the price of a new glock for a used one is just plain stupid. NO Chinese guy, wealthy or not, is going pay that. I MIGHT pay $50 more, but I'd have to think real hard. On a side note, my glock 17 has serial # of ###179!
