Heard on here that EPPS had some SKS's come in. Finished my last service call at Dixie Rd. south of 401 (Toronto). Drove across the 401, up the 400 in rush hour. Around Barrie, past Orillia and to EPPS Three hours total time from service call to buying SKS to driving back to Sutton. They had 40 guns, 15 left. Got to do my own handpicking more or less. Got a Tula 1951, matching numbers, solid Birch stock, correct parts, blued not painted, bolt and bayonette in white. IHZ magazine mod. Decided not to wait till Saturday to drive up there as I had planned. At the rate SKS's sell, they might have been gone. Nice addition to my 1952 I got from Frontier. If anyone is interested, saw some cases outside for those that are getting all the odds and ends. Now I need a 1950, the year I was born...

OK Leafs lost, make with the pics!

I'm just interested to see what they do look like before I go pick mine up there tomorrow (ordered it yesterday).

Wrong Way, They are going for $279 with the shinny bolt not black painted bolt like the last ones were.

OK Already

Stock

Sweet looks great, cant wait till I get mine now, It's going to be a long night!

That's not the laminate stock on that one is it?

Spectre's right. Solid birch stock, but the beauty is the serial number is not ###X'ed out on the butt stock like most of the ones I passed over . I mail ordered my last one ('52) and lucked out, got a real nice one handpicked by Marlin at Frontier. This one I saw in person, so got to more or less handpick myself. Went through a case and the 8 on the shelf to get this one. In answer to the bore question, the '51 has chrome and the bore on both of mine are real nice. Restated, so far I have lucked out on the two SKS and the nice thing is they are totally different. Prime examples of all aspects of the refurbs. Where one is IHZ, the other is Bell (not a problem as far as I stand), One blued, the other painted, one shiny bolt the other was painted until I stripped it. One laminated stock, one solid birch, both absolutely matching numbers, one matte finish bayonette, the other shiny steel. Just a real neat buy and a lot of fun on the cheap. Hey lets face it they are not real expensive firearms. My CZ858 cost 1/4 more than both of these combined. I'll post pictures of both side by side this weekend. but for those interested, there is a picture of the '52 with my SVT40 and a M1891/30 in a previous thread of mine.
