Are there any real disadvantages to shooting 2-3/4 & 3" shells out of a 3-1/2" chamber? ie. less accuracy or fail to feed's...

BTW, I tried searching with very little luck and a lot of frustration...

No disadvantage, still going down the same barrel through the same choke.

The forcing cone is a little further away with the shorter shells but you'll never notice a difference.

I've shot plenty of target loads through my 3 1/2 SX3 and never once had an issue. And my most used shells are 3" for hunting turkey, deer, waterfowl. 3 1/2's come out for geese.

As Winchested said, no disadvantage. We've been getting a real mix of geese & ducks the last couple years, so my waterfowl shell has become the 3.5 inch shell loaded with 1&3/8 oz of #2's going 1550 fps. They work!

Cheers

nopers for me too. For field i'd rather buy one that fits 3 1/2" shells then 3" since i have more options for fire. for clay, ill just pick one up for 2 3/4" since thats only shell i will ever use.
