3-9x40 or 4-12x40 for half hunting and half range on my next coming M14?

I know 3-9 is the "best" for Allround big game hunting rifle......

but,
take vortex diamondback as example:


3-9x40 DH BDC $230 cabelas.ca

4-12x40 DH BDC $230 cabelas.ca

the price is the same, the objective lens is the same...

the 3-9x40 may have larger FOV at the 3x end,

but how about the FOV of 3-9x40 @ 4x VS 4-12x40 @4x ??
are they the same FOV both at 4x ?

for the same price, does it mean that 3-9x40 has better quality than 4-12x40 ?

what to choose? for half hunting and half range....

answer myself: FOV of 3-9x40 @ 4x VS 4-12x40 @4x is almost the same...

waiting for answer from you : Does 3-9x40 has better quality than 4-12x40 ??
