I was looking for Buckshot ammo for my 20GA and finally managed to come across a box of Win. Supreme 3" #3 buck (24 pelets) that got mixed up with some slugs on the shelf...

So I guess the question what is it good for? other than zombies....

I don't think would be legal for big game in Ontario, and I think they're too big to be legal for waterfowl. If you were ever attacked by a goose they'd be awsome for defense.

Why #4 or BB? I actually wanted the biggest buckshot I could get for 20ga...too bad there's no #0 or bigger stuff availabe :(

Big pellets fit poorly in a 20 ga. hull but #3 buck fits perfectly in layers. BB absolutely sucks, as does #0 or bigger. Just a matter of what fits. The 20 ga buckshot do work well for coyote, raccoon, and such. Pattern your gun on paper to see how it shoots and guide you to establish max. effective range.

I can tell you that anything bigger than #1 is gonna perform like s**t. I don't know why but 20ga hates buckshot. Piss poor patterns and next to no penetration compared to 12g. It has me pretty confused honestly.

#3 is excellent for home defence, won't penetrate into the neighbors home and injure him in his bed!

Save it for those 3:00AM visitors who do not knock before entering.
