3 Choices

Better 9mm's than the above 3: Any CZ (75/85/SP01), Browning Hi Power (commercial), any Sig, I agree on the G19-just feels much, much better, I prefer the M&P to the Glocks, there's a custom 1911 in 9mm at Armco right now, pretty cheap, either way a 9mm 1911 is a terrific choice.

the glock 19 to the 17 .. is all a personal preference. i like the 19, and would of had one if our stupid laws werent what they were. but im good with the 17.. i will pick up a 19 eventually,. but a few others are in front of it.

XD's are for people who are 1911 fans , i just cant stand that stupid button on the back of the grip. feels like im playing nintendo back in the 80s. imho

and also imho ,for 9mm .stick with european designs, i dont think the americans appreciate the 9mm round, and dont design pistols around this round. if i was going to get an STI., it would be a 45. and if i was getting an m&p is would be a 40,

I am in the same boat, trying to decide between a G17, Beretta 92FS and a Sig.

Obviously the sig would have to be used.

I am leaning towards the G17 cause it fit my hand very well, (from what I could tell holding one at the gun shop) and because its price tag.

Also, I agree every collection needs a glock.

Good luck!

9mm's in the 80's.....

I was playing with Glocks and CZ's in the '80s so I can't really comment on the XD.

Back then, for me, it was Star B's, S&W 39 & 59 series, Beretta 92S's, the tropical finish CZ75's and the BHP.........

'Course back then we could also have the full cap mags....

i bought a glock 17 as a first gun, sold it after i got my 92fs
you can compare the feeling of the two guns
plus with a "d spring" the trigger on the beretta is sooo much better
