I am fairly new to shooting sports and am thoroughly addicted. I have been looking at getting into some action shooting in the near future and will be taking my black badge in February. After researching around a bit on the internet it seems to me that the Spruce Grove Range was the top event holder in the area. Now that Joe Public has had their say, and the range is closed (for shame) I was wondering where the new spot will be. I have a membership at Sherwood Park Fish and Game, but I haven't seen anything substantial going on out there. Any information would be helpful.
Thank you.

Thank you very much for the info! I am really looking forward to getting into this. If my schedule stays the same I should be able to make the July 16th and Aug 27th matches. Should I pre-register for these or is there typically enough room for everyone? I would hate to miss out on one as my schedule limits my availability.

I too will be coming to CHAS for 3gun this year as the WRAS group is now homeless. Are there any pre-requisites (Black Badge, range orientation, etc) to come to CHAS for a match, or do I just show up with fees the day of the shoot ?

Just show up with your guns zeroed and ready to shoot.

We also keep our matches withing a round count. 150 pistol and carbine rounds, 10 slugs, 100 bird shot.

There is no registration required. No cloth holsters and no race holsters.

Awesome. Count me in for most of the Chas shoots this year. I don't suppose there's a chance of trying a 9mm Kriss for just 1 match, is there ?
Just for something different.
