3-Gun AR Optic Survey

Current local matches are maxed out at about 90m shots right now, so Sight Mark Ultra Shot M-spec Reflex, because the eotech was a bit out of budget for a possibly temporary optic.

However I have nothing but good things to say about the Sight Mark optic so far.

Vortex 1/6 and offset fixed irons

I also have a gun set up with a Aimpoint Micro

Trijicon 1.25 - 4 accupoint. Worth the $$. Glass is outstanding, reticle as bright as you need but yet sub-MOA. All with no batteries. Mine has seen 1000's of rounds and still works great. The BAC is a nice feature as well.

Usually just an Aimpoint because local matches are not typically beyond 200m. Going to try my Razor 1*6 this year on a new upper.

I saw a bunch of people using the strike eagle so I wanted to give it a try. I found it big heavy and not good glass. So I'm running Troy dioptic irons right now. I have had a Sparc, Eotech and an Elcan as well. I also have a VX-R 1.25-4 and the dot is nice and bright and the glass is pretty decent.

So far Eotech and Aimpoint have been great because of the shorter distances. However I just mounted a Nightforce 1-4 NSX so I'll see how I like that for a while.

EoTech 512 with a G33 magnifier gets the most use.

I have a setup with a Bushnell AR 1-4xPCL as well. I find the EoTech setup is much faster to run, and all our shots are sub-200m, so the glass doesn't matter as much. Plus I find scopes much harder to use when contorted shooting through VTAC or other types of ports and barricades.

Would a Vortex magnifier work well with an Eotech or would you recommend staying to an eotech magnifier?

I have a Vortex x3 that worked just fine with my Aimpoint, my friend very generously let me try his Aimpoint magnifier ($$$!), I didn't see much difference. Maybe a hair of fisheye from the Vortex, a touch darker, but the eye box was about the same (tight). I love the Vortex flip-to-side set up, you just smack it and it swings around beside the RDS, and locks into place. I dunno if it matters to you, but there's a fair weight to the magnifiers that I've played with, maybe the Eotech is lighter?
