Interesting choice with the fixed stock; what made you take that over a standard CTR? Also noticed you've gone with a stock CH and no BUIS; just wondering what your rationale was. Gorgeous rifle though, loving that FDE furniture!

I have a CTR as well that I've installed on my MK18, it's a great stock but I wanted to limit the movement as much as possible and make the gun feel even more solid. Provides a consistent cheek weld and I never have to worry about it accidentally collapsing or shearing the adjustment pin in the stock.

I also do not have buis to save weight. I think tac ops division only allows one optic to be used as well

The more I shoot my lowly 14.5" Norc (I'm not worthy, I'm not worthy!) the more I become interested in a fixed stock.

I always use the same position on the adjustable stock, so I wonder why I even put up with the wiggle and jiggle? Maybe an upgraded adjustable magpul or similar would have less play in it, but the fixed route seems pretty appealing to me.

Now the wiggle between my upper and lower...well that's another issue altogether, SLOPPY!

Beauty rifle Danimal, 3-gun is a pipe dream for me right now, but man does it look fun.

Magpul has a second locking system that really helps solidify the stock in place. Not too much wobble. Specially compared to the old standard tele-stocks.

I personally run an adjustable for both the sake of eye relief, and for that C7A2 look; Elcans really make you cozy up to them to see your target to begin with, and my BUIS don't help that :p

It's funny - I never complained about slop between the upper and lower until I installed the fixed stock, I instantly noticed it afterward and how it has that slight amount of play. Goes to show you when you have the adjustable stock you don't "feel" as much of the gun

Very nice build there Danimal! Love the lines and the colors! :D

What can I say, I like ###y guns...

Of course, that Vortex would look equally nice on a new FDE Tavor......

Thanks, and I know...right? had I not purchased all of these goodies I'd have picked up one by now!

Also, I would like to try a Raptor charging handle, but I don't think I want the SwitchView any more - just more weight and I'll be shooting 1x anyway

you need a Raptor charging handle and a SwitchView throw lever for you scope

You can't see it in the pic, but... The charging handle is a Badger Ord. Tac. latch. 'Works fine.
As for the SwitchView... If one fell off a truck and I picked it up for free... 'Maybe.
I usualy choose a magnification setting prior to the start signal and stick with it. Making scope adjustments mid stage... 'Wasted time and a distraction.

Something not yet mentioned is ammo...

All the ammo I use is handloaded 55gr Hornady FMJ's over 27gr of 748. 'Last couple of years been using CCI #400 primers. Brass comes from a variety of sources, but it's all FL sized, trimmed to 1.750 and a "light" crimp applied after bullet seating.

I did shoot one match (Ozark 3-Gun) using 75gr Hornady BTHP match bullets... 'Can't recall the powder charge, but likely 24gr of 748... Those rounds flew slower, but they definately made more of an impact on the distant steel that the lighter 55gr pills.
This "could" be an advantage as on much of the distant steel your RO can call your hits... 'Makes it easier for him to "see" and "hear" your hits shooting a heavier bullet...

I've been runing Hornady 75BTHP for two seasons now at borden in my NEA 1-7 18", and I don't think I'd trade it for anything at 400 & 500 yards. Speed isn't much of an issue, but wind drift is, and this bullet has really shone in my barrel. I think it's a touch under-rated. Glad to hear you've had success with it too. It's my go to load, as most of my shooting has been from 200-500 yards.

umm was for the OP not the highjacker lol

Are you using a red dot or scope?

Red Dot 50m.

Scope 100m.

Variable magnification 1.25-5x... Being in Ontario, I doubt I'll be going out for anything over 200yds unless it's for service conditions (can't wait to hit Hungry's clinic this fall), but for that I'd just re-zero based on his recommendations.
