3 gun build time....Shotgun

Well you already have an 870 and experience with its controls and ergonomics. get a longer threaded barrel, and 5 round extension and give it a shot before commiting to buying a whole new platform.

Practice loading technique as shown in videos above

I'm currently building a rem 1100 for both ipsc style and sporting clays. I'm using 2 different barrels a 28" vented rib choked and a 20.5". The 20.5" is being cut now, I still need to find a gunsmith in the Victoria area to tap the barrel for thin wall chokes. Can't wait for it to be finished.

I have a +3 rnd extension in the mail, but it will be plugged at 5.

I have seen way more 870s jam due to short stroking (more operator error than gun, but still a noticeable problem), than semi's failing to feed. But pumps do have the capacity advantage.

i too was thinking this :D could one ghost load a 1100/1187?

I just purchased an M2 (11026) in the US. I've got an NC extension tube, a Taran Tactical over sized safety and bolt release, and I'm considering picking up his bolt carrier. it's pricey though.

I have a extrema2. 3.5 inch.

Maybe I could use it for 3gun. Get an extrension so I can just fit under 5 3.5 shells.. 7+1 rounds of 2.75 :)

I have never witnessed a mag fed pump shotgun feed reliably under the stress of competition.

I am kind of Semi auto biased at the moment. I have a 930 that I am using now, and it runs fine, for now. It just doesn't seem to be as robust, (parts wise) as some other guns out there.
I am going to buy a versa max, or SX3 for a main gun, and keep the 930 as a back up. If I had the sheckles for an M2, I would go that route.
Can't wait to see speedjunkies SX3 this weekend to see how it shoots at the Zombie match!

mmmmm what about mag feed pumps?

The shotgun definition of FAIL :D

I agree with 7.62...

The mag fed guns I've seen at matches either sucked or it was a case where the user "thought" he was all high speed-low drag, but... Didn't really know how to operate his gun...

Either way... Fun to watch.

so... I think I will buy a used older 870 barrel add a 3 or 4 shot extension cut the barrel down to that length and have my smith install some choke tubes add a HI viz sight and maybe a rear fold down site like a 10/22 rear for longer slug shots this will be the cheapest way to go and i run the 870 good

I still love my 870. 10+1 capacity... the only downside is the 28 inch bbl is loooong lol. I need a shorter bbl, but then I'd loose capacity.

I agree, and older 870 pimped up is a better option. There are so many accessories that allow you to configure it to your own needs and style.

Curious about your statement.

What does barrel length have to do with capacity?
I'm assuming that you wish for the barrel and mag tube to be same length for aesthetics?
You could always run a shorter barrel and long mag tube.
