3 gun long guns.

Then those bastards at EESA remembered that they had a 300 meter range. ;)

Now I have a proper AR in .223 (the best tool for the job)

I think there was a clandestine meeting about the best ways to make it more difficult .....I could not overhear it, ...but I am sure they were planning something even more painful for the next event.... :)

You mean we have to throw ourselves down on the conrete on every stage this year :D

For me the shotgun must be an 870.

For the rifle the AR is probably best, but I've been using a Ruger PC9. You can't beat the fact that your pistol mag pouches work for your rifle mags.

I thought I would revive this thread to expand on the original question.....now that we are all geared up with long guns how the heck do we carry our ammo??

I have the normal IPSC pistol rig but I am really wondering about the best way to manage LAR mags. Most mag pouches etc for an AR are designed for 20 or 30 round mags. I expect if I put my 10r in there it could take a while to find it again...

I have a side saddle for my shottie but after that if I need more ammo what is the most accessable way to set it up?

Okay all you gurus...do your stuff....edgimicate us... :)

Stuff a rag, dirty socks, used underwear, whatever in the bottom of the mag pouch, until the ten rounders sit high enough to access.

for shotguns, these red coloured handy dandy thingies worn on the belt are used by many and seem to work well....They do come in other colours, so if you want to coordinate your outfit for the day.... :) :p :)

What the heck are those cute little red gadgets?? I can't really see them.

Think along the lines of stripper clips....pull 4 or 5 out and feed them into your shotgun. Different colors maybe for slugs/shot

S&J Hardware used to carry them...not sure if he still does.

I use Safariland pistol mag pouches for my LAR mags....they work great for IPSC.

Those shotgun shell holders are the cats azz too.

I use a Vest for the Multi-gun stuff though.

S&J list the California Comp shotshell carriers but not the Choate model. Basically the same idea I guess?

What Safariland pouches are you using for your LAR mags?

John

I find a leg rig holds my LAR15 mags at an easy to access height. For shotgun I found that I was able to mount two side saddles for 11 rds easily accessed. With 8 in the gun that's usually enough. I do have one of the shotshell holders for my belt, but find them slow to get out. My vest came with a velcro 5rd shotshell holder that I discovered sticks to my pistol mag pouch, so that gives me an extra 5 close at hand. It all comes down to what's the easiest way to reload fast.

Can anyone tell me what most 3 gun shooters are using for a shotgun and rifle? I was assuming a pump gun and an AR. Let me know what you are shooting and why or what you have seen people shooting.
Thanks.

I have used all of these in 3 gun matches. I like the AR platform and the 870 Tactical Magnum with the Knoxx Spec Ops best.
