3 gun Mag fed pump popularity this summer?

SAP6 is straight-in, drop free.

Valtro is rock and lock.

As discussed above. The SAP6 needs "Tweaking" to get it to run reliably. Valtro is pretty good out of the box. (Rock and lock is slower though)

Ah Okok that's perfect advice, thank you! Did your Valtro come with chokes? I see WestRifle has them on sale, and the mags are 90 something haha wow... But maybe I'll just buy this instead of the sap. What sort of modifications did u make to the magazines to make them run in the Valtro?

Mine didnt come with chokes. So I have not played around with that but I have not had any issues knocking down steel. Sometimes the guys with a tight pattern can knock em down further though. To get a SAP mag to work in the valtro you need to remove the old tabs. Fabricate new ones and weld them on. (Not an easy task, but do have drawings if you know a machinist) Then of course some hand filing and fitting.

Hvac,

I see your location shows as Northern AB. If you intend to shoot 3 gun in the Peace Country with MP3G there are a couple of points you may not be aware of.

A mag fed shotgun will put you in the Open division. Not a big deal, just a fact. Also, you will see many stages with shotgun round counts over 20, and as much as 35. PR, GP, and FSJ all have range limitations which make some stages shotgun only. Hence the larger round counts.

There is one more regular season match in GP this Saturday, the 17th, and the team match in PR Oct. 1/2. If you can make it to either of them you'll be able to see what guys are using and what works.

I guarantee you will see folks loading tube-mag guns faster than you can change a box mag. Quad loading is extremely quick when you get it down.

Stevo is correct here.

There are some places that do massive shotgun only stages with 30+ rounds. MASSIVE fun. HOT gun. Tired hands.
(CDTSA used to do it at Sheperd and will hopefully do this at milo once we have a shotgun range)

Ahhh ok awesome Joka, thank you. Again I wish I was off work this weekend for GP there. Suncor's hvac isn't gonna fix itself eh haha just kiddin.
You wouldn't know if a guy could get his hands on a choke kit for the Valtro? I'm just going off the HuntingGearGuy's review of it; he mentions a choke kit included. I emailed West Rifle and asked about it. (I can't find it for sale anywhere else....)

Ten rounds into a tube, this quickly?

Haha, that guy is quick.

I am a quad-loader with a semi, so I have to put up a fight here ;) The guy with the massive banana is probably an open shooter, and shooting open usually costs more to get into. You also need to learn to shoot a pistol with a red dot. So you buy the pistol, buy the red dot, figure out a compensator (if you're going open, comps make your pistol times faster; I know there are many shooting open without one, but when one guy with a comp comes along and cleans house, then his competition will all of a sudden have comps), and then put in the dry-fire and range time (money on ammo) to get used to shooting with a red dot, the costs add up on top of an already expensive hobby. I've mounted pistols with red dots and coming from shooting irons, it is very weird.

Also, that guy with the banana clip is probably in the top of his division. Same with Jesse in the quad load video above. Comparing us little Canadian shooters to top of the line sponsored American shooters is kind of, well, not apples to apples.

For me, although I like pump guns. I like semi's more. They make me smile every time I pull the trigger.

Just my $0.02 for a semi quad-loader. All semi quad or twin loaders needs to give a thumbs up here! :d

Oh, and if you are going to shoot open, I'd say go for for the chokes. Better yet, go for ported chokes. Anytime you can eliminate muzzle climb and recoil, you are ahead of the game.

This link is meant for tuning pistols with comps, but essentially, any muzzle braked gun works the same. Including ported chokes on shotguns. Jerry Miculek demonstrates the recoil reduction of porting, but the same applies to muzzle brakes/compensators.

I do agree with "H"'s statement about autoloaders putting a smile on your face. I have an Benelli M4 and it is one of the most fun guns to shoot in my collection.
