We will be hosting a 3 Gun Match in Rocky Mountain House at the Rocky Rod & Gun Club on Saturday, August 20th. 9 AM start. Match fee will be $40, with a $10 discount for Rocky members. We will do registration at the match, but would really like to get an idea of numbers, so please let me know if you will be attending.

We are planning 6 stages, lots of rounds. If everything works out, one rifle stage will be out to 300 yds, we will have a Texas star for both shotgun and pistol, and are planning one stage with 4 slug targets. No separate divisions, minimum .223, 9mm, and 20 ga. Scoring will be time plus, ala IMG, but focus is on fun. We have a great bunch of guys (and girls) that just like to shoot.

Camping is available at the range, and it's quite possible that a BBQ will be held after the match, for those who would like to stick around.

Hope to see you all out there!

R.

Stage design is all done and we're four weeks away. Minimum round count will be 69 pistol, 40 shotgun, and 51 rifle. Bring lots of extras. Hope to see you all there!

If there are "newbies" wanting to try this out and need kit for the shoot dont worry to much, there is usually lots of extra guns avail. I do suggest you bring some ammo though,9mm,.223 etc... I will be bringing an extra rifle, pistol and my shotgun is avail. for borrow as well. Hope to see you there

3 Gun Fun

Hey Ross Co...
It was great shooting with you at the recent WRAS Steel Challenge at the Spruce Grove Club...thanks for making the trip up to join us.
Since WRAS has delayed its next 3-Gun event until August 27, it will allow me and other WRAS members to hit the road and support your event on the 20th.
Mark me down as attending.

Mike

See the first post for requirements. Rifle in minimum caliber .223. AR, SKS, etc. Note that we will have one long range stage (300 yds). Shotgun minimum 20 gauge, any type. Pistol minimum 9mm, with secure holster and mag pouches. No slings required for long guns. Desire to play safe and have fun are a must. Hope that helps. Any other questions, feel free to PM me.

Sorry total newb here when it comes to 3 gun.

How many mags for an AR would I need? I only have 1 :(

IPSC race holster acceptable?

Black badge or other requirements?

Is it normal/ok to use someone elses shotgun if you don't have one?

Can a friend without RPAL participate?

AR mags should be no problem to borrow at the match. 4-10 rounders would be ideal. One of the stages is minimum 25 rounds of rifle.

Any holster that secures your pistol is okay. We don't care what kind, as long as your pistol doesn't fall out.

Black Badge is recommended, not required.

Borrowing or sharing a shotgun is fine. (Remember a few slugs)

Without an RPAL is okay, IF they are safe and are familiar with the firearms they will be using. This is NOT the place to bring someone who's never shot before.

It was nice to shoot with you at the WRAS steel match as well Ross. I'll try to make the time to come to your neck of the woods for this 3gun. Keep us posted for upcoming matches on CGN.
