3 Gun Newbie and in BC info

Looking to get into some shooting sports this spring and Im looking at 3 Gun. Are there any Canadian Websites or forums for some newbie stuff? Also what ranges host this kinda stuff in The Lower Mainland in BC?

The Kamloops matches are very good. I try to attend them whenever possible.

If your are into multigun shooting in the south end of the province Kamloops and Kelowna are pretty much it.

Workable rifle stages? Why not just copy and paste what other ranges do... dont have to be unique.. just fun

What kind of ranges do you have avaliable for rifle.

We have a lot of fun and generally only using 100m ranges.

For rifle stages I live the VTAC barricades, or anything that promotes difficult shooting angels. Urban prone, canting the rifle up to 90 degrees etc. We shoot either paper or swining stell targets, (RO calls hit) and that allows us to shoot at the same set of targets from multiple positions.

Throw in some run and gun with the rifle and you are good to go. Close targets are fun with hardcover and no shoots because most people forget about sight offest when shooting AR's

Most IPSC-style pistol stages will work with an AR.....and as Sosa points out, the closer targets will fool most AR shooters most of the time.

For rifle, the 100 meter range could be set up as (say...) a timed 1 minute stage. 5 rounds on an IPSC target at 100 yds, 5 rounds on an IPSC target at 50 yds, then clear 5 steel plates on the berm at 50 yds.
The 60 and 20 meter ranges could accomodate one stage each of (say....) multiple IPSC targets at ranges of between 5 meters and 20 meters with a few targets out to 50 meters just to make it interesting. Add in some movement, barriers, barrels, "hostages", no shoots and a mover or two and you've got a match. Depending upon how wide the 20 and 60 meter ranges are, you could possibly set up 2 stages on each range. Shoot for fun or score it for bragging rights.

Its never lame when you are shooting a stage of 2 or 3 gun.

Uhhhh.......I was thinking more along the lines of building stuff and setting up
