3 gun rules and AR mag capacity

Your narrative on this issue shows that you have your head firmly planted in the sand . When the RCMP come down with a heavy hand and enforce this issue and close down gun shops ,Everyone will be up in arms and I will not feel sorry for those that get caught up in this .It is always better to err on the side of caution than throw common sense into the wind for some on here common sense is lacking .

You speak the truth... I'm gonna start driving 20kph under the speed limits and pay a extra 10% on my taxes just to err on the side of caution. Think I call up the RCMP in the morning and see if they will come do a storage inspection too for sh!ts and giggles.

I prefer to base my decisions on the law and real examples and not listen to Chicken Littles like you. While you're erring on the side of caution, some of us are standing up and exercising our rights under the law. I'm sure that the RCMP will get quite the chuckle reading your comments - they don't have to worry about tightening up magazine laws with good little citizens like yourself erring on the side of caution.

You talk a good game ,when the #### hits the fan and you are on the wrong side of this. You will hide your magazines and hope that you wont be caught LOL. The PC's let this issue slide now that we have Lieberals soon they will turn there attention to us and the RCMP will have there bulletin enforced and they will deal with this with a very heavy hand .There are very enthusiastic crown prosecutors who are just waiting to nail some clown to the wall over this and make a name for themselves .

When and if the RCMP enforce this there will be more than beowulf 50 mags affected, if they go after 1 they will go after everything that works the in the exact same manner such as .40 mags that function in 9mm.

No, they won't take it to trial...they have had several opportunities to do so. As the law is currently worded, they are most likely to lose at trial (and if they get lucky at trial, then they will lose on appeal) which will create a precedent. An over zealous crown already got slapped over the storage issue with the Johnny Sombrero case...last thing any Civilian dis-armer wants is more clarity and precedents over the firearms act.

Beo mags are legal. LAR mags are legal...you are free to use or not use as you see fit.

If that's how you see this playing out then that's fine, time will tell. But it is patently false to tell others that if the police find these mags they will confiscate your guns until the issue is decided in the courts; that is what I take issue with. We have real-world examples where this didn't happen so what you are doing is fear-mongering, plain and simple. When you make stuff up like you did, it hurts the gun community and is why I suggested you delete that comment.

The mag cap law as written has a fatal flaw. It will fail to hold up in court. The flaw is that cartridges of different calibers vary in size, so it's impossible to pin a mag to accept no more than 5 rounds. My AR-15 mag that can hold no more than 5 rounds of 223 can hold more than 5 rounds of 5.7x28. That is the fatal flaw in the law.
