3 gun rules and AR mag capacity

I am in the process of building my equipment up for 3 gun. I am wondering about the mag capacity for Canadian ARs and how it works with 3 gun. Can you use the 50 beuwolf mags holding more then 10 rnds, are we limited to the LAR-15 10rnd mags?

Only asking because I don't want to spend a bunch of money on mags I can't use or would be at a disadvantage using.

Any insight is great.

There are no universal rules for 3 gun. Rules depend on the club that you're shooting at to decide what the want to let shooters run.

Having said that, most places don't bother limiting magazine capacity. If its legal, you can run it.
 
As sly mentioned, each club is different. Check with your local club to see what they allow or disallow.
Locally we're using 10 round LAR mags.

I have found they generally work fine if you don't try and fill them to maximum capacity.
 
As said above it is up to the club . Some disallow the beowulf mags others bump you to open class if you use them. My c products mags run great as long as you stop at 14 rounds any more than that and the follower jams on the limiting crimps in the mag and won't feed.

He was probably using Press Check Venture Beo mags. The AA Beo mags run great and I know lots of guys who use them on a regular basis, loaded to capacity, without issues. My old LAR mags required considerable tweaking before they would run reliably, my AA Beowulf mags have been fine right out of the bag.

The LAR mags have always worked fine for me, the first gen PCV 50 mags were prone to feed lip issues (hence jamming), and the AA 50's have been fine as long as I don't try and push that last possible round in there.
 
I've seen a lot of the newer CPD Beo mags that were junk without a lot of tweaking.

The IMI polymer Beo mags have been excellent for me so far.

There are a few versions of LAR mags out there so my experience may have been different but almost everyone I know had to tweak their LAR mags for competition. My LAR mags wouldn't seat reliably when fully loaded (10 rounds) and inserted on a closed bolt. Also, the front lip of the mag was so sharp it would often catch the round as it was being stripped from the mag so that had to be filed smooth. Once they were tuned up though they worked perfectly.
 
Rules at any match can be different.

But you could probably just load 10 rounds in your mags, if that's what the match limits you at.

You can still use the same magazines, just not stuffed right full.
