3 Gun shotgun advice - Rem Versa Max "Turkey" Edition?

Is this it?

If that's the gun, here's what I personally don't like about it. (based on my personal preferences)

I don't like having a rear sight always in the way. Makes the sight picture too busy for me. Slug shots are few relative to the number of birdshot targets you'll likely see in any course of fire.
I find it faster to just have a front fiber optic bead.
Looking at it again, its a rifle sights gun. I prefer a vent rib barrel. easier and faster to line up and aim the gun. You kind of do it naturally as your eyes pick up the rib vs consciously trying to line up sights.

Non adjustable stock. From what the video says, this version doesn't have the ability to use shims (or at least doesn't come with shims) to adjust cast and drop. They key to being able to shoot a shotgun fast, is that it fits.
We're not all made the same so one size doesn't fit all.

I don't necessarily mind the camo, but I like to put stickers on my gun (makes it shoot faster) and the camo won't give me the pop I'm looking for when beautifying my gun.
I'm just kidding about the stickers. (not really...)

Maybe send Tactical Ordnance an email asking how much it would cost to shorten and thread the 28" barrel.
Casey has that process down to an art form and you'll probably get a barrel back that actually has concentric threads.
I've seen some nasty factory threads.
Remington has its ups and downs when it comes to quality control.

Just my take on the specific gun you are looking at.

Yes that it is the one. Good information.

The sights could be changed pretty easily I think? What if I just remove the rear one if I find it slow, I'll just have a front fibre optic bead then right?

Stock is not adjustable, all the sportsman models are like that which keeps their cost at <$1k. Few ideas I've found for adjusting it slightly anyway by chopping it down or bulking it up a bit.

I hate the camo personally.

Your advice is much appreciated, thank you.

Tell me about it.....I couldn't believe it when after 5,000 rounds through my M2 I had to replace the oil that was missing on the bolt....and that dirty carbon build up on the firing pin....well that was complete agony to wipe off with some CLP!!!! I don't know how other semi users fair, but when I have to not clean the dirty pistons and the carbon build up after 300 rounds or so....so the gun will actually work....I feel....unclean....hideous.....like I just robbed a bank.......uncomfortably numb I tell you!!!!

I own both (VMT and M2) so here is MY take on them:

VMT:
- Out of the box it's ready to go, only mod is to open up the port and weld the lifter
- Loading port is huge
- Heavier gun

M2:
- Out of the box, it's going to need some mods other than what I mentioned above. I added a FO sight, installed a larger bolt release button and had to purchase a tube extension. The VMT comes with all of this.
- It is lightweight. To me, it feels significantly lighter than the VMT. Quick shotgun reloads are key in 3 Gun. Depending on how you load, you are quickly shifting the shotgun to your shoulder or under your armpit to drop twins or quads. I find that I'm quicker doing this with an M2 than the VMT, even though the loading port is larger.

As far as accuracy and reliability, both have been very good. You can't go wrong with either gun.

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but here is mine that I just got back from THE MAN (Casey) for some updating. When I bought it from him, it was the gun that he had built as a demo for the IPSC Provs. I think it was his first VM. It ran like a top after a good oiling and a couple of boxes of 3" to get all the parts to break in. All the work was done by Casey except for the stippling, comb riser, C-More mount, oversize bolt release, match saver and barrel dump extension which I did myself. I decided to convert it to Open Major as I shoot Open Major pistol now and really like the red dot deal. I'm not out chasing a championship, I just do this to have fun. Here are some pics.
