3 Gun Shotgun

Sadly I was being close to serious. I don't really have too much trouble with falling down but the getting up part is a beach!! If I have to go prone at any point, I'm looking to time out. Mind you, I just turned 70 and am out there every week staying in the game. There's another guy my age but he has been shooting since he was three (Texan) and is still kicking butt. He is my hero:rolleyes: Sometimes we stand together watching and comment that we are older than 6 or 7 of the other shooters put together. Life is good when you have a gun and are oblivious to your shortcomings. :dancingbanana:

Awesome!

Ive got the Fabarm SAT8. Great gun, can't comment on its 3Gun ability but based on others ghost ring sights = the suck.

The pump gun extension tube is the same thread so they are available in Canada. I have it plugged to accept 5X 3" shells, can load 6 X 2.75, one ghost, one chambered for a capacity of 8.

Mine is plugged with a piece of dowel cut to size and is secured with PL Premium. The dowel is painted black prior to install so you don't even notice it. My SAT8 extension was plugged in this manner from the factory/importer so i feel it fits the bill.

Hercster is one dedicated 3 gunner!

In other news: It's heeere . . .

With a face only a mother could love! I'll post first impressions tonight if I've got breathing room.

Get any trigger time behind it yet??

What did you cut it down to? It looks shorter than my 22 inch VMT. I assume you started with a 26 ?

I started with a 28" actually. I didn't realize how that length effected the swing of the shotgun (at least for me) until now! Barrel is now a tiny bit under 21". It's still marked 3.5". :D Basically this a tactical except with the longer barrel (not anymore). Lifter, port and shell catch area are worked on! Very happy with it!

This is similar to the way most of the guns I see used in Texas are set up. Benny Hill starts with 26 inch models and does what he calls his "package". They leave it at 26 to get more mag capacity; i.e.,10 in the tube. I had him do mine but because it was the Tactical to begin with the "package" was about half the cost. Benny does essentially the same thing with Benelli M2's. When I was last there he had 50 of them to mod and then return to Benelli for sale. The upgraded Benelli that people buy is actually a Benny Hill upgrade. He sells both the M2 and the VMT for close to the same price.

I just hope the POI is good, specifically for slugs. It's been threaded for True Bore chokes. Looking forward to trying her out!

Benny's people zeroed mine for slugs and told me it was 2 inches low at 50 yards which is fine. They have a jig to make adjustments if the POI does not equal POA. To quote the smith I dealt with, "most shoot straight out of the box". Benny himself told me to take off the barrel clamp. Most of the guys down there don't use them as with a rifle, constraining the barrel will affect POI. He told me it's better to let the barrel "free float". Benny is a "gun god" down there. The man is like Jerry M in that if it has a trigger Benny can kick butt with it. I shot on the same squad with him once and got some coaching.

Interesting and makes sense! But the clamp looks cool. :D I will have to experiment!

Stage from an IPSC shotgun match I shot today.

Casey from Tactical Ordnance cutting and threading my barrel didn't effect my POI at all. There was also a slug stage and I got all my hits including the IPSC mini targets.

I feel like this thread is very worthy of a necro bump.

What's the reliability of a Hatsan semi like? I would love to get a Benelli M2 or SBE2 but frankly it's just not in the budget right now. Thinking it would be a good acquisition later on and a Hatsan might make a good interim SA shotgun until I get the real deal, and then have it as a backup. Thoughts?

The ones I've seen run pretty well, but are often more sensitive to ammo and lubrication issues than other semis.

I wouldn't run one, YMMV.

FWIW, I've run 870s and now shoot a Versa Max.
